About the Artist:
Dolls have always been a special part of my
life since I was a child, and being an identical twin allowed me to always have a partner to play with and constantly blend
our creative capabilities. As a child, I attended the Philadelphia Museum of Art, taking classes in watercolor
and silk screening. I remember it fondly and thought someday I would love to hone my talents for creating all things
beautiful. While attending college I took classes working with clay, again in watercolors and acrylics.
I was fortunate enough to be born into a creative family to start, as my Dad was a true gifted artist in every sense
of the word. My Dad used his talent every day as a successful advertising executive. I can't count how
many hours my sister and I would sit at our kitchen table and draw ballerinas with our Mom, and our Dad would show us
how to draw faces with personality. I inherited my Dad's artists talents and my Mom's perseverance and she still
pushes me everyday to follow my dream. Never did I realize what course my life would take where art and being
creative as an adult would be the one thing to keep me motived day to day since being diagnosed with Fibromyalia. I found myself collecting dolls all over again as an adult back
in 2000. This is when the Silkstone dolls by Mattel were introduced and then the Fashion Royalty dolls by Integrity
hit the scene shortly after. These were the dolls that inspired me with the help of my husband (the handy wood
cutter in the family) to begin creating large scale dioramas to give the Fashion Royalty dolls a life I felt they were
so worthy of. These particular dolls became my muses for everything beautiful. It was just a matter of time before
I realized that my love for painting, and the dolls that bring me so much joy would collide, an explosion
occurred and magic resulted. My dolls are the "great escape" in my life since suffering from fibromyalgia. Bringing life
to their faces is my gift to them for the quality of life they have given back to me. I put my entire heart and
soul into each and every repaint that I do. My goal is to bring out each individual doll's personality and inner
beauty and light them up from the inside out. I hope that everyone can see the love shine through their faces and
life that I want to bring to the dolls that I cherish. Thank you for sharing your time with me and ENJOY!
